Age ain’t nothing but a number for rockerBy MIKE CHAIKEN If you read Desiree Apolonio Bassett’s list of influences, you would guess that she was a woman who was at least in her 30s. After all, her list is filled with guitarists like 1960s guitar gods Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton, Rik Emmett of the 1970s power trio Triumph, and 1980s shredder Joe Satriani (now a member of the supergroup Chickenfoot). If you listen to her guitar skills on the album, “Power and Force II,” you’d also swear the mature and self-assured playing emanates from a woman who has been playing for years...
